Seeking self preservation and immortality,
The encased flowers are a representation of immortalising the flowers temporarily. Using flowers as an expression of life, and icing them as a act of immortalisation.
Freezing the flowers in water, acts as a way of holding on to the memory, the smell, and the appearance. It was as though it was a halt in time before the flowers started to wither and decay. Using ephemeral materials to express the impermanence and fleetingness of life and the inevitability of death.
